Calling all students (6-12 grade)!! You definitely won't want to miss this. Join us down at Ne-O-Tez for a spring retreat! A time of rest, rejuvenation, fun with each other - and most importantly, a time to refocus on our relationship with God.
See more details and sign up using the link above!
We've got a few things coming down the pike in the next couple of weeks!
Hey guys - if you missed service this morning you may have missed the news. After much, MUCH prayer and discernment, I've decided to resign. I know this may come as a shock to most of you. It was an incredibly tough decision with lots of back and forth between God and I, and I'm sad. Really, really sad. I've always struggled to balance my personal life and ministry, and I need to take a step back and refocus on some of the areas of my life I've been neglecting.
The last three years have been some of the best in my life, and I will carry the memories we've had and things I've learned with me always.
It is SO important to me that you know - I genuinely love you. Not because it was my job, but because I just love you. And that love won't just stop because I am no longer employed at McKnight. We won't see each other as often, but my heart and my home are always open to you. I am just a phone call away. And we'll be in Kirkwood, so I can throw a pot of coffee on at any time if you want to stop by!
I am hoping to stay until the end of May. I will have to apply for jobs (because, bills!) in the next few months, so our timeline is a little up in the air, but know that I would love to stay until May and am aiming for that.
Jeremy and Steve have graciously offered to oversee the summer and make sure that things are as normal as possible. There are several things in the works, including a mission trip, and an intern or two! We will work together to try and make this transition as seamless as possible.
In the meantime, youth group will continue as normal this semester. Theo and SLT on Tuesdays, YG on Wednesdays and some fun things sprinkled in between! It may feel weird at first, but I would love to dig in and make the most of the time we have together!
I know that the eldership has already begun the process of looking to the future, praying about who will serve on the search committee and putting out some feelers. I ask you to join me in praying for our leadership, and for the person who will fill my role eventually. I am confident that the Holy Spirit will lead them to each other at just the right time, just as he did with me. I know that they are hoping to have someone for the fall, but are ultimately more concerned about finding the right fit, which I'm very thankful for. They love you, and want to see someone in this position who will lead well and be a good fit for our group.
I have so many mixed emotions, but I've seen the Lord work SO obviously in this group and I am completely confident that he'll continue to do so long after I'm gone. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have.
Lots of love,
Check out The Loop for the January 2022 Update! There, you'll find info and sign ups for several upcoming events, including a fuzzy sock exchange at the Hamm's, and Dad & Daughter Date Night!

One of the best events of the year is almost here! We (the youth ministers) have poured so much time and prayer into this weekend, and we could not be more excited for the Holy Spirit to work as we experience it together.
As we head into this weekend, here are a couple of reminders:
Please let me know if you have any questions!
We'll see you at at 6:00 on Friday!
The ladies exercise day with Liz on November 20th is being postponed to the spring because of a scheduling issue! I'll let you know as soon as we put the new date on the calendar.
HS girls, still plan to join the McGlawn's for a hike at Castlewood that evening. Click here for the details!
Hi everybody! Two things.
1. Medical Release Form. We are over due for an updated medical and personal information release form. I am passing out paper copies of the form tonight at youth group and would love if you could fill those out and return them to me as soon as possible. Ideally, I would love to have them completed and returned before Refuge (11/12). If your student is unable to pick up one tonight, you can grab one on Sunday or click here to access the printable PDF.
2. Updated Church Center Information. You know that website that we use to do sign ups? It connects to a database, and I need to make sure all of your contact info is correct on there. Can you sign your students up for the MXYG Registration | 2021-22 event? When you sign your student(s) up, it'll prompt you to update their contact information in the database. Parents, if you'd be willing to sign up and update your information as well, that would be helpful! This is also the "event" that I will keep track of who has turned in the medical forms mentioned above.
As always, let me know if you have any questions!
🟠Did some configuring on our website to try and make communication as seamless as possible for you. Instead of sending out an email every month with all upcoming info, you can now find the most updated info on the "Newsletter" page of our website. This will allow me to add information as I have it, so you'll know what's happening sooner.
I'll still send out emails once a month with the link when I upload each month's printable calendar, and I will send out announcement emails when I post a new event, or important information is added. Hopefully this change allows you to get those save the dates on the calendar sooner!
🟠Did you know that these emails are actually blog posts that are forwarded to you? Here's what happens...I post on the blog, and at 5:00 PM that night the website will automatically shoot the post to you in an email. If you lose the email, you now have access to the history of all the emails I send out under the "Email Log" tab on the website!
🟠 I just finished uploading all of the content for November. Take a second to check it out and write those dates on your family calendar! You can find the printable calendar at the very bottom of the page. I also have pre-printed copies available in the Canteen! All of this can be found at www.mxygloop.weebly.com !
Hope you have a Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
Bonfire at the Patterson's is canceled for tonight. A couple factors here. Of course, the weather - We're looking at a pretty cold and rainy evening. The other being that I had several people who were signed up let me know that they wouldn't be able to come so we were going to have a pretty small group! Dina and I will combine calendars and try to put another one together in the spring! And don't forget, we have a Middle School girls night tomorrow, Bike Hike this Sunday, High School Boys night next Friday, and Trunk or Treat next Sunday as well as Youth Group next week. There is plenty coming up that you won't want to miss! :) Stay dry and warm tonight!
